Hi girls, tonight I wanted to talk to you about how I have been balancing worklife this past month. They say it takes 14 days to turn an action into habit and although I haven’t mastered it, there has been changes in my routine and attitude I’m really loving.

I have learned to love the fact that work life balance doesn’t exist; at least for me. When you are passionate about what you do, it takes up around 99% of your time and the best part is that you don’t resent it. So, since some type of “work” activity is always wavered into my day, I try to have at least 1 hour a day for “me“. Now, you should know that “Me” time isn’t always laying in bed, watching movies. In fact, most of the time, it means working out or cooking, or running some errands. I define “me” time by doing things, that liberate my mind a little bit.

Here’s what last week looked for me. You will see everyday is different but I try to keep some consistency.

Saturday, I did a 30 minute workout with my dad and then went to the mall to get some things and then grocery shopping so that on Sunday I would be able to cook for the entire week. This pretty much took the entire day. Got home at around 6:30pm and then started working with my Dad on a project we have going on and later on at around 10pm Luis got home and we continued working. At around 12:30am, we watched a show on Netflix called Parenthood! and then… zzz

Sunday, woke up and continued to work on our project aaall day long. In between was a quick lunch and a walk with nikki. Later on a workout with Luis (I basically did Mondays workout on Sunday). Watched the superbowl while completing some work and at around 9pm started cooking for the week. Went to bed at 1am and now… DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN!

I know it sounds pretty boring but to be honest, this routine makes me feel in-sync. When I don’t apply these kind of schedules I feel lost and like things are out of control and then deadlines are not met. I’m not a life coach and not an expert in business but so far, things have been working out and most importantly I feel good.

I urge you to find balance. Your own kind of balance. What works for me, will probably not work for you but it’s important you find a rhythm of life that makes you happy and fulfilled.
