Now that the summer heat is behind us, we must focus on our hair care routine for the cooler fall days. Chilly nights in cozy knit sweaters and ankle boots are nothing without a fall-ready and healthy hair. Here are some tips on how we can get it done!
#1 – Start your Hair Care Routine with a cut twice a month
The more often you cut your hair, the more often it grows – the golden rule. In order to promote its growth and healthy-looking ends, we should visit your hairstylist at least twice a month. Fall is the perfect time to get rid of the dry and dead ends that we’ve been keeping all summer long because we were overly attached to long beach waves. Am I right, or am I right? Also, rejuvenating our hair color is not a crime, especially in fall when the days are shorter and when hair gets darker. To avoid damaging our whole hair, freshening it up at the roots or some baby highlights are good options! So, take a deep breath, book an appointment with your hairdresser, and get going with your first stop towards a full-on hair care routine.
#2 – Invest in a new shampoo and conditioner
The cold weather means adding extra layers of clothing, and our head shouldn’t be the one to escape those layers – hence, hair care routine tips! To protect ourselves from the wind, we are bound to wear a hat often and a lot. This might be stylish in a way, but it’s also bad news for our hair. This way, we easily get dandruff, which is quite unpleasant and annoying. Therefore, it is essential to invest in a dandruff shampoo and conditioner that helps us improve our scalp and nourish the hair follicles. Just make sure these shampoos contain natural ingredients that will soothe your scalp and moisturize the hair.
I recommend this one! (Belen speaking!)
#3 – Ditch the hot tools for good
Ladies, put down your curling irons and straighteners, ’cause we’ve got a back-up plan! If your hair happens to be super straight, and you would love to give it some curl from time to time, then you deserve to know how to effortlessly make some heatless curls. First, partly blow-dry your hair, then make two equal sections, and wrap the hair in two buns. Leave it for some time and then let it down, and voilà! The natural waves are back, and you didn’t even have to burn your hair with a curling wand. It’s just as easy as it sounds.
#4 – Hair masks are more than welcome
Our hair needs to be silky and moisturized regardless the season. For that reason, we should surprise it with some nourishing and natural hair masks. And I’m not talking about hair salons, where you would probably spend some serious cash, but helping ourselves to the ingredients we might already have in our kitchen. DIY masks are popular among many women, and they give you some great results. Natural ingredients such as avocado, olive oil, an egg and a banana are just two steps away from a mask that repairs your hair and gives it a healthy shine. This combo might sound weird, but it really does wonders with damaged hair.
#5 – The magic of a coconut oil
This all-natural ingredient has risen in popularity, and it’s great for both hair and skin. Take two teaspoons of oil and massage it onto your hair. Avoid the scalp if yours is too oily. Apply more to your ends and stop when your hair is all soaked. Put on a shower cap and wait for about 30 minutes. Rinse your hair with a shampoo and lukewarm water, as you would normally do. After you have blow-dried your hair, you will notice the softness.
Now that you have noted down these hair care routine little tips and tricks, you are ready to welcome the new season along with a pumpkin spice latte and hella good hair! Did we miss any tips that work for you?
