Did you watch the video?? Heellloo! For this post, I want to tell you about my day because it fits perfectly with the message that I’m trying to get across with this partnership with Michelob ULTRA. I’m assuming you all know by now BUT if you are new to the blog, I’ve been consistently working out for around 20 weeks straight – I started a program to help me get back into the routine of staying healthy and fit (in mind and body) and have been working REALLY hard at maintaining the routine. It doesn’t come easy with a full-time job, almost full-time blog and being somewhat of a good friend/sister/daughter/girlfriend.
Anyway, woke up at 7am to get the workout done, quickly took a shower (didn’t wash my hair… don’t judge me!), got dressed, made coffee, ate breakfast and ran out the door! I had to interview some people today for an internship program this summer so needed to be on-time to make a good impression, you know? No one wants to work with a boss that doesn’t respect time… at least not me.
Ok so then I ran some errands, got home just in time for a work phone call, left again for other errands and finally got home at around 5:30pm – Just in time to take Nikki for a quick walk. I try to take Nikki for a walk everyday either in the morning or in the afternoon because it’s a cute bonding moment with my doggie and also because walking outside makes me feel alive. I usually never take my phone (expect for today to take pictures!) because it’s a way for me to disconnect. We walk for 20 minutes and when I come back home, my mind is refreshed. I admit, sometimes I don’t want to take her for a walk because I feel like I’m too busy and “DON’T HAVE TIME” but, I have found that those are lies I tell myself. I don’t take her for a walk because I’m lazy, overwhelmed, stressed or frustrated. Same reason behind why people eat at their desks? I used to think that was cool – feeling and looking like you are so busy but in reality, you are harming your health. 15 – 20 minutes to take away from your busy schedule to refresh your mind, is really not that much time at all so whenever I say to myself, “You don’t have time to go for a walk with Nikki” I get up and go. Just go.
To achieve happiness, health is needed. Even though we live a full and busy life, try to be committed to making the time to stay healthy and enjoy your passion points. This is what life is all about. In my case, my passions are intertwined with my health and wellness goals; working out is a passion that keeps me healthy and walking with Nikki is a wellness practice that goes hand-in-hand with my passion… being healthy in the mind and in the body (Hello A Hint of Life!) – How do you put to practice staying healthy and connected with your passions?
