You know when there’s a fashion trend you don’t really love and it really doesn’t look good on you but somehow end up wearing it because it’s “in” and you know… sometimes we fall into peer pressure? It wasn’t until this past month that I noticed I’ve been putting other people’s opinions before mine for a while and with the motivation of it being the first month of 2017, I made my resolution of this year to be about me. It sounds selfish, but I want to myself first. So what, if I stay in on a Friday night? I want to watch a movie my mom; you know?
And this doesn’t only apply for social events, it applies to my self-expression. Fashion/Style has always been a big love of mine. I don’t like to talk too much about fashion because I’m not an expert but I enjoy using fashion to express myself. I have always dressed a bit “older” for my age I guess and somewhere along the way I lost touch with my style. I guess it has to do with starting this blog. As a blogger you want to inform readers (you) of new trends and everything that’s cool right now so you sort of get pushed into that direction but the truth is not entirely me. A couple of weeks ago, I posted about Bringing Feminism Back Into Clothing and I love that I wrote it because it explains my love for elegant, classic, feminine pieces we don’t much of anymore.
I have been implementing into my wardrobe pieces of clothing that I have “neglected” this past year and will continue to do so because it brings me joy to dress and express myself in my clothing. One thing we don’t see much of anymore is women in stockings. To be honest, I haven’t worn them many times but whenever I do, I feel a bit more elegant and put-together. These lace thigh high leggings are perfect for a cute dress. I know no one sees the lace but just having it there makes you feel cute… just like cure underwear.
These thigh high stockings also come in black but I thought for day activities the lighter version would look better. If you have never tried stockings, give these a try! They are super comfortable and are only $9 and free shipping! There’s no need to add a garter because the lace has silicone so they stay up.
How do you feel about hosiery?
